About / Démarche         Skaters / les Patineurs

This quartet of miniature etchings speaks of my nostalgia for all the 40 winters I lived in Montreal.
In ‘Dragon Skaters’ I bring three elements of my personnel archaeology together around the Skaters; the architectural landmark of Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours, a finger puppet dragon, and one of my ceramic works.
I choose to work in miniature format etching plates, wishing to evoke the idea of ‘long ago and far away’.
The use of scale and the recognizable landscape join in the imagination. Despite their ‘real’ size large things seen from afar will look small; but small things seen from far away in time may loom large.

Démarche
Patineurs Dragon
Eau-forte 2’x 3’
