The Parcel
Victoria Edgarr / Victoria Wonnacott
Galerie de la Ville, Dollard des Ormeaux, 1995
Each of us carries a parcel, bundles of associations and a history of complex relationships that we privately sort through now and again. With this project, both Edgarr and Wonnacott have opened the parcel together and shared their discoveries.
What initiated this project between Victoria and Victoria was a respect and familiarity with each other’s artwork. Both Edgarr and Wonnacott share interests in the human figure as vital characters in their narratives. Personal objects, organic forms and the elements of nature make up the principal images material with which both artists construct their narratives.
These collaborations between Victoria and Victoria provided the opportunity for a creative exchange founded on the images of The couple, The parcel, The strings, and The curtsey.
